Hello to anyone reading this, I need some help/advice with montipora eating bugs.
Although i dipped and quarantine my corals I have eventually been hit with the dredded coral destroyers, they must have come in as eggs, and they have finished off 2 of my montis,(luckly I only have 4 monti s at this point. all my other corals are different varieties )
I have found and destroyed 5 of them , but i am presuming they may have laid more eggs by now.
So, the question is ,If i take out the two remaining monti s , dip them and put them in a quarantine tank, how long do i have to leave my display tank for the eggs, if any to hatch and starve to death, before its safe to re introduce montiporas again.
Any advice will be greatly recieved.

Oh and would they eat any other type of coral ?

If what you have is montipora eating nudibranches, they will only eat montipora. I believe they have about a month long incubation period. The adults are susceptible to iodine dips. I would remove the montis to from the display to qt and dip once a week. A worm eating wrasse or peppermint shrimp may help reduce numbers in the qt between dips.
Any nudibraches left in the display will slowly desiccate so increasing carbon and wc will assist with the toxicity.
