Not sure were the best place for this thread is, clearly I chose here.
I sm selling off a lot of equipment to off set the cost of my daughters tuition. Some is stuff that had been in storage and others like the Reef Octopus skimmer were chosen to generate the needed funds. After answering several questions of a member here and dropping the price I was sent the funds. Marked it sold and set a ship date of this Monday. I also spent the money I was sent.
The buyer sent me a pm today saying after researching the skimmer it is too big and wants a refund.

I will refrain from saying what I think and plan to do at the moment and simply ask...what would you do

At least he contacted you before the skimmer was sent. I would explain the situation and refund the money but explain that it might take a while. I hope it works out for the both of you. Maybe you could relist the skimmer asap and hopefully find another buyer. GL

The right thing to do would be to refund him for the sale since It has not been shipped yet. Also put yourself In his shoes as If you where the buyer and ask yourself that same question. GL

Personally I wouldn't send money if I wasn't 100% I wanted it. I have backed out on more than one purchase in my time but never after sending money.
In the end best way to settle any problem is always open and honest dialog. The buyer and I will figure this out I am certain.

Thanks

Also o guess on the future I will leave the cash in PayPal till the transaction is 100% completed

This and I would wait about a week or two to ensure that the buyer is satisfied with the purchase. Just best to use caution.
