Some basic info. The tank is a 140 gallon 60x30x18. Sits on a 1.5” steel stand. I had to use shims to level it today. I used 4 shims stacked on both back corners and single shims on the front 6 down bars. I’m not liking the 4 shims stacked on each other. I thought about screwing the shims together. They are composite shims. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Here are a few pics for reference. I stacked the shims correctly so there are square.

After I skimmed the tank it is level and sturdy with no rocking.

Shims are fine using as is. I am sure the stand surface is flat. Stacks of shim like how you use it will not slide and become thinner due to the friction on the surface of the shim. I would also consider just cut a small piece of would the correct thickness and use this instead. Either way, you can pain these and match them with the stand color and it will not be an eyesore. Make sure you recheck as you fill the tank with water, watch for any settle and see if additional shim is needed.

I also would used a scrap of wood in place of stacked shims. I’ve used half inch plywood so that I only need to use a single shim.
