Need Advice on the OTHER METHOD choice.

I am finishing up cycling my 37.5 tall tank. My other tank is a Fluval EVO 13.5 - established. In the 37.5 there is a small amount of chaeto & pods in the CPR Bak Pak HOB skimmer but it is definitely not a refugium/sump. My filter is a canister. Is the "Other Method" the system I should be using? Thanks
