Need advice to recover tank!

Hello all my tank has been taken over by algae in my absence full description here (https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/dream-tank-overhaul-of-75gal.820226/) but I'm looking for advice on how to recover it without bleaching the rock as I have a few corals still hanging on thanks in advance!

Can you get some close-up pics of the algae? It looks red in the pics, just want to see if it's Cyano or something else.

Plus 1 to the above! Get the water quality to specs, do some good husbandry on your tank and slowly but surely it will go away. If its truly algae and not cyno getting a Sea Hare can speed up cleaning the algae off the rock and tank glass. Just make sure you have a future home for it as it will run out of food to eat quickly and starve and die.

I've never used it before. So can't speak on it. I just try to manage things without using chemicals.

I instead would add some CuC. Urchins, emerald crabs and a variety of hermits and snails. I'd probably start with the package for half my tank size from reefcleaners.org

I have never used it. I have read lots of sucess stories...and also lots of bad results also. I would certainly not start with that though. Get nutients under control, a good cleanup crew, etc first. Try the natural approach before the bottle approach in my opinion

With the manual removal do you suggest using a brush in my case and just turning up the pump to try and filter as much out as possible?

Yes what i have done in similar scenario is tweezers/fingers for big clumps i can grab. For the rest hard bristle toothbrush or similar. Make sure you have a filter sock and good flow so you can actually remove it. If you dont have sump you can just use a hose/pump from DT back into a filter sock in DT to filter out that stuff you scrape off.

Bolster your CuC. When doing water changes use a toothbrush on the end of the siphon to scrub and suck the algae out

I see a lot of bubble algae , would a fox face be able to take it out? Either way I recommend more CuC

Yup, cyano. Have to fight that differently than algae. While stabilizing your parameters, you can use Chemiclean for the cyano. I've used it on one of my tanks with no side effects and it cleared everything in 2 days. Hasn't come back. Just make sure you follow the directions.
