I'm in the process of building a 266G display with a 66G sump and I'm wondering which skimmer would work best.

Right now I'm thinking the Alpha 250 as it's rated for 350G, and after adding in sand and rock the overall water volume will be much less than 350G. I also know that you want to oversize your skimmer, but if you go too big it can also impact how much skimmate is being pulled from the water.

Will the Alpha 250 be enough? Or should I be looking at the Alpha 300?

Gotta go bigger on this one, as the Alpha 300 puts you at twice your DT volume, or theoretically anyway. You at least want one that rated over your Total Volume of water, not one rated at or close to it.
