Are you using tap water? How are your nitrates and phosphates? How big is that tank? I assume that tang is being housed temporarily?

I am using tap water that I let sit out before I put in the tank. All those levels seem to be fine. The corals are doing great. The tank is a 29 gallon with a fluval canister filter and a built in dump. You are correct about the tang. I'm keeping him for a friend until he can get his tank setup.

What are the numbers if I may ask? Tap water are full of unwanted elements that can harm our tanks. Silicates and chloramines are just a few of unwanted elements you put in your tank when using tap water. You can use distilled water better than tap water

have you tested your tap water for phos, nitrate etc?
If you have hair algae you have phosphate just reads good because the algae is up taking the phos and therefor your reading does not show it.
I assume you clean that canister pretty regularly?
What type lights
You may want to consider seachem phosnet "a little pouch of gfo that will help strip the phos.
Also try manual removal at same time if you go with the phosnet.

Thanks for the info and advice. I do clean my canister regularly. I havnt tested my tap water for anything. I didn't realize all those things are in tap water. I'm not sure what lighting I have.

That's my light. It has led moonlights built in as well.

I put conditioner in the tap water usually. That's about it.
