Hi all, I have a 150 gal tank with mostly LPS corals and a few sps. I have a wet/dry filter and a sro hob skimmer lx2000s. I feel I need more filtration as I get gha and cyano out breaks often. What does anyone sugestion I can do ??

I ram GFO in a 2 little fishes reactor, but didn't seem to work for me. Couldn't get the flow right. I'm thinking of using a canister filter as a GFO reactor but I hear that's not the best of ideas

Yea i wouldn't, i love canisters but they're not ideal for carbon or gfo. Have you considered trying the BRS reactors? I used the mini on my 46 bow front and it worked great. I have the large Dual version now, have no complaints. Does your skimmer run well, i'm not familiar with that one?

I would dump the canister first of all. How much lr do you have in tank? As mentioned, get a reactor to run some carbon and gfo, if you need it. What are the nitrate and phosphates at? If you wan to scrub you tank, during water changes/cleanup, then run the canister overnite and then remove. If your tank has enough lr and is mature then it should take care of most it by itself. Keep using your reactor. One thing you can do if you're having trouble with the flow is run GFO and Carbon mixed together, that way the GFO won't clump. Just mix it well before you put it in.
Measure your phosphates and nitrates if you can. It doesn't tell you much if they are low, since the GHA could be eating them up. But if they are high then you know you have a problem to deal with somewhere.
Tell us more about your setup and filter and you will get good answers.
