trying to get the impeller out of my reef octopus skimmer pump and it seems stuck? The shaft broke and was gonna replace that and can't seem to pull the impeller or magnet out, anyone else have this problem?

It isn't too uncommon for the rotor of the motor (the magnets) to swell causing it to jam. It could take quite a bit of force to get it out of the motor housing. At that point all you can do is hope it didn't also damage the motor housing and let water in.

May have swollen some, but I can still spin the impeller with a screwdriver, I've been trying to pull on it with needle nose, and I'm 6"3 270 but dang they get stuck that bad?

That is odd unless the impeller is spinning freely on the shaft. But yeah, they can get stuck pretty pad. Motors are more efficient if the gap between the motor housing and the rotor is as small as possible. Doesn't take much swelling to get it to jam pretty hard.

Ok I'll just keep pulling on it eventually something has to give, thanks for the advice
