I am currently running 2 45 gallon cubes in my home right now. I recently purchased a 120g aquarium. I was wondering if I would be able to jumpstart the cycling process of my 120g by putting all my live sand and my rock from my cubes into the 120g aquarium.

I was wondering if I can do that without any bacterial issues. Having 2 different colonies of bacteria is concerning but will there be a huge decrease in bacteria when one takes over? Is this something to worry about? Sorry for the long thread

Whatever you do your new tank will likely still go thru a mini cycle with a ugly phase. It should be able to deal with ammonia though, I removed all my fish from my tank, removed all water and sand and left the rock, then replaced sand and water and put the fish back and my tank still went thru a ugly phase/mini cycle.
