So I just removed a large Green Birdsnest that was starting to over shadow an Acropora and a Stylophora. The spot is high in the tank about 6 inches from the surface and high flow. Any type of encrusting SPS that might be able to grow there? I want to keep from over shadowing again.

Bad pic but you get the idea.

I will spare that space for high light demanding SPS rather than encrusting one. SPS over shadow is unavoidable, you have to do trimming when they out grow each other. If not, upgrade to a bigger tank for more grow out room.

I had trimmed my Birdsnest so much it really started looking bad. I also have it in 2 other places that it won't over shadow anything else. So I figured I'd just replace it with an encrusting or maybe another Acro.

I was thinking about that. I started some reading up on it and it states med-high light and med-high flow.
Mine's getting @350 par and med flow and it's doing well, so something like that would do well for you.

mystic sunset , chilli pepper monti, both will be good. I would have recommended orange smoothie as well, but I think you have to acclimate it fairly slowly

The Chili Pepper would do it but I've found the Mystic's can be touchy under higher par levels. It could work if you gradually moved it up there. I lost several colonies trying to move them to higher ground.

That is how it is my friend. A thriving tank means more trimming works. I have to give away a lot frags as well. At some point, I simply throw some into the dustbin as nobody wants it. A slow growing acro might be a better choice, as an encrusting SPS usually are fast grower as they don't spread vertically. No matter what choice you made, at some point they will grow into each other. Get ready your fragging tools, you might need it very soon :D

Uww sunburst monti would encrust nice and very bright in color
I had keeping mine in 400par before with no issues( now it's in 250) and holding same color

Some of the montis mentioned can be aggressive, invasive and grow fast You could very well end up with a worse issue than some shadows.

I'd replace it with an acro frag of your choice that would make a nice color mix to it's surroundings.

I'd go with something else other than an encrusting sps on there. Once it fills in, it'll overgrow other sps as Big E mentioned above.
