Hey Everyone,

I am currently looking for a new camera to take better pictures of my corals and tank. I have done some research and see that the main thing is a macro lens. I know exposure, lighting, etc.. all affect the picture quality as well so I need a starting point. There are so many cameras out there that I do not even know where to begin. I am not looking for the most professional camera and would like to stay around the $400-$500 range. The only feature that I know I would like is WiFi. Can anyone suggest a decent camera for what I am looking for?

Thanks!

After looking some more I believe most of the DSLR cameras do not come with WiFi (at least not in my price range) so it wont be a deal breaker if it doesn't come with it.

I would recommend a Canon EOS M3, it's like a point and shoot camera but with a 24.3 megapixel DSLR sensor. It has wifi and is within your price range. You can also in the future buy a macro lens, but I would first take some pictures withe the standard kit lens and zoom into them to see if the image is good enough for what you are looking for.

I think it's a good setup, especially for the money to get the body and two lenses. I have a good friend that has that camera, and he like it a lot. The only thing that it doesn't have is wifi, but if you're ok without it I think it will fit your needs.

Nice! How do you like it so far?
After hundreds of hours researching cameras and really getting nowhere, I finally just ordered a d5300. I held off on the macro for now too but would definitely like to get one.

I'm interested to see how some pictures turn out. Especially if you got a macro lens. I would like to invest in a decent lens.

I'm using a Nikon D7200 with Tokina 100 ATX pro. Sample photos below:

Try to look for a Nikon D7200 body then purchase a dedicated macro lens. Nikon D7200 has a wifi to upload photos directly to your phone/PC.
