I'm looking to use 2 reactors (GFO and Carbon) on my new build. Is it worth the extra cash for the Next Reef MR1 reactors? I went all out on everything else so I was looking at the MR1 reactors.

I use the BRS deluxe reactor for carbon and it works great...while youre looking at next reef and vertex, check out synergy reef too...Ive got their ATO box, build quality is impeccable, and the green acrylic is cool lol

I have been personally using and retailing NextReef products since the company first started up. Obviously that makes me a little biased, but I only support the products I personally use and believe in.

Thanks benny. Everything I've seen about them has been nothing but positive. They sponsored our frag swap so that helps lean me towards the MR1

You won't be disappointed. Great value. The BRS reactors aren't bad at all, especially for a small system. Don't want to bash them. Just a different animal.

I'm okay with spending more for a better quality product. I've learned from my mistakes in the past 5 years of reefing and I now try to buy equipment that I can use later if/when I upgrade.

I like the way you think! :)

I use an MR1 Monster for carbon/GFO, and an MR1 shorty for GFO after the CaRx. In hindsight I think the Monster is a bit of a pain and may cut it apart for two separate reactors just for maintenance ease.

It's pretty different. I haven't had either but the main difference I see is build quality and the way you remove the canister.
