I am having problems with my two carpet anemones they are shrinking up and one has his mouth open not looking good EVERYTHING else in my system is perfectly happy and looking great including all my BTA (8 of them) in two different tanks plummed to the same sump. Any thoughts on what could be causing the issues with the carpets? Total water 200 gallons all parameters are the same as they always are, nothing has changed except the addiction on the lasted carpet that has been added about 1 month ago, it looked good up until a few days ago. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks in advace.

How long have they been shrunk? I had one for 2 years and it would shrink down every once in a while

Also what kind of Carpet

Yep, need to know what species of "carpet"?

Need to know your actually water parameter numbers --- "same as they always are" doesn't tell me much.

What lights?
How long have you had both "carpets" ?
Online or LFS?
Do you run carbon?
What lights do you have?
What size tank are the "carpets" in?
What all is in that tank?

sorry for the long delay......I lost both carpets, so sad!!!! I had one for over 6 months the second was added about a month ago I think something was wrong with the second one and transferred to the first one, which was completly healthy, growing good and beautiful. I have another question is there any chance whatever the problem was still be in my system? The rest of my anemones (14 total) are doing great.
Thanks for the replies much appreciated.

are u feeding silversides?

Yes your new carpet gave some type of bacterial infection to you est nem. You should do a search on cipro treatments for nems. This will be a big help in the future, if you go with carpets again.

Good luck and sorry for your loss

thanks I will look into that and get some, appreciate the information

thanks everyone....I was just thinking is it something that could be transferred to my clowns?

IME, no, it won't transfer to your clowns, or any other livestock. Lost 2 S. haddonis this way (( 3 if you count the infected one )), this was before any treatment was known. Besides losing the anemones, there were no issues.
