Hey guys I just got a 6" maxima clam. I don't know a lot about them but what I have read. This is a first for me. Clam was put in tank tuesday. All params in check

Alk 8.6
Calc 420
Mag 1350
Nitrates 0-5ish
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Sg 1.025
Temp 77

Is this pinched mantel?

Give it a couple days. Clam should recover in a couple days and adjust to your parameters. Monitor it to make sure you don't have anything pestering it.

Thanks, nothing is bothering it that I have seen. No snails nothing. Does respond to light/shadows well.

Cree 3w led full spectrum diy. It's about halfway up in the tank at the moment.

The area its covering and wattage are important. I run a D120 over half my tank and a 250w halide over the other(4' by 2'). Keep the gold maxima within 12" of the LEDs, my derasa is roughly 18" down and my blue maxima is 14" from my halide.

Those blue ones unfortunately don't always open all the way up. I've seen one at my fav LFS for several weeks now and it looks just like that and has never changed. But I also agree with the above. It takes about 3-4 days for them to settle down. He may also want to move. They can sense where the best place in the tank is for themselves and they work to get there.

75g tank about 18" down from leds. I sucessfully keep sps at that hight in my tank. Like I said they are 3 watt cree leds with 80° lenses.

It moved once from a higher rock so I put it in the middle of the tank and it has not moved yet.
