Need some help here. I have a 125g tank. 6' W by 18" Deep. I bought 2 36" wide x 24 " deep kitchen cabinets & a 1 /14" in counter top that is 6' by 24". In each cabinet I installed 6 2x4s vertically for support. 2 on each side & 2 on the back. The 2x4s extend through the base to the floor. I will be putting the counter top on and will place the tank along the back. This will keep the weight towards the back of the cabinet and away from the kick plate at the front. What does everyone think?

Sounds like it would look nice but hard for me to imagine without seeing a pic. Are you going to do a sump underneath?

Yes I do have a sump that I will be plumbing too. Not sure, but it looks to be about 25-30 gallons. It will be sitting on 2x4s inside one of the cabinets.

I'm having a little hard time visualizing it all, but my question is about the strength of the top of the cabinets and the counter top you have. Would there be direct supports under all corners and sides of the tank or would the front part be over a open part of the cabinet?
