I started cycling my 40 gal Breeder 20 gal sump on the 23rd of march. I"ve already had people tell me not to over check or chase the progress. But i've checked it a few times and i'm kinda confused. Maybe someone can tell me what im not seeing? Here's a few photos of the test results.

The first was the next day the 24th

The second was on the 25th

The third was on the 28th

Last was today the 30th

should the ammonia be that high at this point?

Probably should have mentiond i am using the Dr. Tims method. and followed it the way it suggested.

Let’s start with how are you cycling the tank

Looks like your cycle is going well. How are you supplying ammonia?

I'm using Dr. Tims and the ammonium chloride they suggest. I just feel like i may be missing something. The video they have out says the ammonia will spike the nitrites will start taking off and once they spike the nitrates kick in. The last picture looks like all three are active?

It does look ok as mentioned. Give it a little more time. Eventually you will see the ammonia and nitries spike and then go away. It will happen, I know it’s tough waiting and looking at empty tank

It looks like your cycle is doing well to me. Your already converting ammonia to nitrite so now it should just be a waiting game. I will admit however that I am not familiar with the Dr Tim's method

It seems lots are saying it looks right.... lol I just started worrying and wanted a second opinion. Dr. Tims seems to be good Day six and you can see where it's at...?

Yeah, my first tank and it's driving me nuts. I put a lot of time and thought into this and so far the overflow and sump areas are working like a charm. Can't wait to start stocking. lol

It will roughly follow this pattern.
Once your nitrates are high, do a partial water change.
Then let your ammonia drop to 0, keep track of it, dose~2ppm ammonia and see if it all goes away in 24h

That actually helped, thanks. I saved it to my desktop.
