I've had my Flame Wrasse in QT for a few weeks now and it hasn't been eating. Yesterday the disease finally started to show symptoms and I need some help in ID'ing the disease so I can treat accordingly. The fish has 3-5 white nodules on it's body with 1 nodule being on the tail. The nodules look 3d in nature so I'm pretty sure it's not ich and because the nodules are mainly on the body it has me thinking it's something else. I'll attach a few photos and you can mainly see the nodules on the top side of its body below the top fin.

I'm thinking it's still ick. Ick can be 3d looking as what you see it a build up of excess mucus around the insertion point of the parasite. Has he been showing any other symptoms? He's been in QT but have you been treating with any meds while he's in there?

Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans):

Symptoms - Ich looks like salt or sugar-like “sprinkles” on the body or fins, usually more “here & there” as opposed to the fish being completely covered in them (see Velvet). Other symptoms include scratching on rocks/sand, head twitching and heavy breathing.

Treatment options - Copper, Chloroquine phosphate, tank transfer method, or hyposalinity.

The only thing that's got me thinking it may not be ich is usually ich as clusters of white dots where these are just spaced single white nodules. I went ahead and looked through the stickies on here and I couldn't find a ID for anything other than ich that has white nodules so I started treating with cupramine and prazi just to be sure. He has been twitching so it may be ich, hopefully I caught it in time and the cupramine will take care of it. Thanks for the info. I will update if his condition improves. I'll treat cupramine for 4 weeks as recommended by humblefish.

yes please update us with how he does.
