Ordered a beautiful BTA that was suppose to be here yesterday but did not arrive until this morning. The water temp in bag was 56 degrees. Water smells awful and is yellowish /brown. The mouth is gaping. I quickly floated it to temp acclimate and then changes the nasty water for some fresh. Should I go ahead and start antibiotic treatment right away? Or what should I do to try and save this beautiful BTA I have been in contact with the selling and he is starting claim with FEDEX.

I’m not an anemone expert, so I’m not sure if it can be saved or not, but I would not do anything that would cause it more stress at this point. I’d just keep it stable and isolated.

I am so sorry. Have you sent pics to whomever you bought it from if online?

Never give up...you have gotten good info, keep it separate in good water and let it rest.

I'm hoping for the best for the anemone and you.

Please keep us updated.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone. I do have it in a qt tank now. It is also in a cup with a rock so it doesn't get blown around. With some good luck maybe it will attach to the rock and be ok.

@Captain Quint, yes I have contacted seller and sent pictures.

Here is picture of it from his website.
