Need for a skimmer if suffering from low nutrients?

If I’m suffering from ULN, is there any harm to not using a protein skimmer in my system?

I currently have my skimmer turned alllll the way down anyway so it doesn’t really ever make skimmate...

Is there any other reason I should keep running my skimmer?

Oxygenation and gas exchange is really all it is.
If the house co2 is low and your ph pretty good , I’d leave it on.

As long as your tank has adequate circulation I see no compelling reason to run it.

Many experienced reefers feel that a Skimmer is unnecessary in a stable system. If you want the oxygenation but not the nutrient export then you can just remove the skimmer cup.

I run a skimmer but my system is still a long way from stable!
