Need guidance, new frags arriving Friday

I currently have 8 SPS frags in my new tank. They all seem to be doing ok. I purchased all of them from a LFS. At the LFS they were in a shallow flat getting blasted by a metal halide. Therefore, I brought them home, removed the plugs, dipped, rinsed and mounted them where I wanted them. I am running Halides with t5 supplement.

I just purchased 14 SPS frags from a R2R member. The frags will arrive this Friday. The frags are currently under medium lighting, T5/LED. Given this, I am thinking I will need to acclimate them to my lighting. So my question, do I receive, cut the plugs off, dip, mount to new plugs? Then put low on a frag rack, raise over how much time? Then cut plugs again and glue to rock once at right level? That's my current thoughts on strategy. Any advice? Thanks.

That plan seems logical to me. I give my SPS at least a week before I move it close to the lights but I start all of mine at the bottom regardless of the previous lights. I also don't move them more than a few inches higher at a time.

Agree with Bluerexy I always just keep mine on the sand for 5-7 days, no matter what lighting they came from. Unless you have some really high rocks, I think you're fine to move them to where you want them. I've never moved mine up slowly after the sand light acclimation, but my aquascape doesn't really get above the 50% point of the tank

Yes thats exactly what you do. I always acclimate for about 1 month before mounting.

Also great job removing from the plug and dipping then remount to a new plug. Toss the old one. Thats the proper way to dip IMO. Doing it for years.

New to Corals and have so many questions. how long can you keep sps out the water? do you need to keep water spotless with sps ?

I personally wouldn't leave SPS out of water more than a few minutes. Definitely don't want it to dry. As for water parameters... Really depends on your strategy. Must keep your alk super stable, nitrates below 10ppm, phosphates below .1ppm... But not zero on the nitrates or phosphates unless you feed your corals daily.
