Hi. I just need some tips on running a Maxspect Gyre. I have for awhile. I managed to get the xf130 running on constant near the top at about half power. That seemed to work. That was in a 120. I traded some coral for a Maxspect Jump 4k. Its in the 120 now. A four foot 120. I put the XF130 in the 90 gallon. I keep Triggerfish and they like the flow. I had the jump up to 80% and the male Bluejaw was swimming in it. I'd like to blast it on constant at 100% but it just seems it will tire the fish out. I have a lot of rockwork. In the 90 I have two anemones. One moved from where it was when I had the the XF130 at 30% pulse across the tank. I have Triggerfish, clowns and a coral beauty. I want to blast this one also. The Triggerfish really like the current. But is it ok to run it 100% constant. The top GPH of the XF130 is 2600 gph. For the Jump 4k its 3960 gph. I keep both on the left wall near the top. Jets pointed outward a little toward the surface. Corals are mostly gsp an shrooms. Some Kenya. Two Anemone in the 90. Sinularia and Xenia in the 120 hidden below the Gyre and sheltered by the rocks.
How much is OK for the Gyres? For the fish?

If your corals and anemones look like this, it's too much.

It's typically recommended to have 10-20x flow from wavemakers in your tanks, so:
• 90 gallons = 900-1800 Gph max (~69% on the XF130)
• 120 gallons = 1200-2400 Gph max (~60% on the 4k)

Thank you that helps alot.

So in my 90'with my return pump, power filter and gyre I have about 1230 gph. In my 120 with Gyre, Two aquaclear 110 filters and return pump I have close to 3000 gph. The gyre is on pulse so its not constant. The filters are more turn over than flow. Things are nit flying all over in the aquarium. Much of it is very still.
