I have a Polar Aurora Canister Filter it’s current flow is about 265 gph without the filtration media. I’d like to get it slowed down to 50 gph. The filtration media that I have isn’t working properly which in turn is causing an abundance of hair algae and throwing my nitrate and phosphate levels off. I’ve researched online and everything points me in the direction of using a DC pump or a t valve on intake to adjust the flow. But I only see the DC pump being used with sumps. Could I use it with my canister filter? Or are there any other solutions that anyone has found that I could apply to my current filter? I know that a sump is the best way to go but currently I haven’t been able to get or make one yet. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thank You!!
