Read this forum daily but still confused I'm new to dosing correctly. I have a 125 adding corals, have about 10 now not growing but not dying. 3 tangs and a flame angel and the usual inverts. Tank is a year old. I do weekly water changes all apex monitored. I have apex dosers hooked up but haven't used them yet. I am leaning toward sps. Reef brite t5 and led lighting. Do have chaeto in a fuge before skimmer. My water seems to stay pretty clean. Alk 7.38 with hannah 7.3 with red sea, calcium 440, mag 1300, nitrates 0.50 to 0.75, phosphate 0.02 to 0.04. I have A AND B solution. Just don't know where to start or if I need to. I feed heavy 3 times a day plus nori nightly. Just kinda lost. I understand somewhat how alk affects things. Just don't understand enough to be comfortable doing this.

I think first question would be do you have any sps corals like montiporas and acroporas? They deplete the most calcium and alkalinity. Lps and soft corals don't use as much therefore you would only have to dose if you have a lot of coral and or not doing enough water changes. Now if you do have sps then your flow and lighting may not be sufficient enough for them to grow and deplete the calcium and alkalinity you would need to dose for. Feeding doesn't really have to do with any of it. It's mostly coral consumption and the growth rate of them. What type of lighting do you have? What type of flow? And what types of corals?

Check your parameters and dose them correctly to the levels you'd like them to be.
Wait an entire week without dosing at all and test a few times during the week. Test again on the 8th day and dose back to where you like them. Keep tabs on how much you're adding.
Then divide the amount of each supplement you've added by 7.
That number divided by 7 will be your daily dose.
Keep testing to make sure all your math was right and you're good to go!
Hope that helps a little :)
