I have a 55 gallon standard reef tank, I’ve had trouble aquascaping all my time reefing. First this was just a pile of round rocks, but then i broke them into different pieces to make them irregular shaped but I still just have a stack of rocks!! Any suggestions on what I could do with what I have, also what kind of glue can I use that will glue them quickly and strong?

Break it up so it’s not one linear wall. Make a couple of stacks at varying heights and shapes. Angle at least one stack so it is closer to the front glass and angles up toward the back.

here’s my original structure and how it grew in. See the angles and varying shape/size?

My biggest suggestion is go online and look at all the different examples out there and find what you like.

take bits and pieces from them and make it your own!

55s are a little tougher since the depth of the tank is limiting. But there are plenty of awesome 55s out there.

have fun. Try different things. Let it sit a day. Start over lol

Take that urge of you wanting to stack your rock. Visualize yourself stacking rock upon rock upon rock. And.... do the complete opposite.

But seriously, Google some 55 gallon aquascapes, look on IG, look on Facebook, even Google some pics of natural reefs and shallow tide pools and lagoons to get your inspiration. You have enough materials. You just have to fight the urge to... well, stack them.

Bulk Reef Supply has a bunch of videos, suggest you watch them for the how to.

It looks like you added water already but if it’s dry @Glue Masters thin is the BEST for glueing rock. This is one piece I made using it .

Yes it’s wet that’s my problem!! I’m looking for something that can glue while the rock is wet so I don’t dry out the helpful bacteria and coroline algae!

10 or 15 years ago a guy came into the hobby and left quick. His name was Andre Silvestre. He was a architect & a photographer if I remember from Portugal. He wrote one of the best tutorials on reefscaping that I've seen. I think his tank w/ pics is on reef central. I'll find a pic of one of his tanks.
