So I noticed for a bit now my black tail has this fuzz all over them. They’re in quarantine and there’s copper in the quarantine. Not sure if it’s helping though. The fish acts healthy just looks a bit messed up. Sorry never used a forum before just don’t want my fish to suffer or die.

Hi and Welcome to R2R Kimberly,

Please post up an image for this fish if able. Sorry but I am not familiar with the name black tail, what fish type is this specifically?

How long has the fish been in the QT? Are there any other fish in the tank with the fish?

If you are able to post a pic, that would be helpful for us to take a look and help you with a diagnosis.

Welcome to Reef 2 Reef
Need a pic of that fish, but sometimes if you catch it, simply pull it off with your fingernail, use wet hands, or better wet gloves to handle the fish with a wet rag. I’ve done this to many fish with great success
WOW, that’s a lot to pull off!

Thank you.

I am sure others more knowledgeable in the disease department will be along to offer the assistance.

As an aside, what copper are you using? There's an ongoing issue with coppersafe if that happens to be it.
