I tried manually picking off, buts it’s hard to get then used reef flux. But it didn’t work. Please help.

We need complete tank parameters including light schedule and age of tank. What is your current cleaner crew? Looks like normal GHA but close up of branches would indicate if briopsis or not.

Tank is 1 year old. Fluval 13.5. I have the stock lights with an extra led bar, I run full lights 4 hours per day, with just the led bar blue for 2 hours before and after. I’m doing 1/4 water changes every 2 weeks. Had a bad bout with cyano 2 months ago and bought a rodi water system. Before that was using tap water.

I have 2 clowns and a cardinal fish
2 red hermits
2 small snails, don’t know exactly what type

The snails don’t seem to be eating algae, so I know I need more CUC, but seems like the fish stores don’t have good selections or much selection at all when I go.

PH - 8.1
Ammonia - <5
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate- 10-20 ppm
Calcium 360
Ca hardness 143.2
Phosphate 0
Salinity - 1.024

I have some zoas that have exploded in growth during the algae and then also some SPS (acropora I think) that was growing well, but now is turning white and dying.

Where do I start? I’m due for a water change basically now.

Elbow grease and diverse cleaner crew. Calcium is low and phosphate is bottomed out. Weekly water changes. Cut lights to 6 hours with blue and UV only no whites. Raise magnesium to 1500. Pull out daily.

I feel your pain! Had the same stuff and still fighting it. Freaking sucks!

Tuxedo urchin and or Mexican turbos can help . Must get phosphates up and ammonia needs to be at zero . Watch the over feeding along with manual pulling . Wouldn’t hurt to dose bacteria like microbactor 7 . Cutting your lighting back can help even a total blackout for three days but because your tank is small you should be able to get it in line without black out .
