See video below. I bought a 5W laser off Amazon and went to town on these Aiptasia. It sounds like I am cooking bacon and they melt and turn white. However, a day or two later they are back again in full force and spreading!! What kills these freaking things! I am thinking of getting some peppermint shrimp or Berghia's.

I strongly recommend that you consider @Frank's Tanks F-Aiptasia. There is a thread about F-Aiptasia here.

Hey, I actually found a small head of aptasia on a recent frag I bought from my LFS. I considered the laser option, but then stumbled upon a "reef safe" medicine called Aptasia-X. <$15 on amazon.. I haven't tried it yet but an strongly considering this option.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I found a video of a kill compilation.. Funny, sad, yet totally satisfying. They mention it is safe on polyps if touched and willdegrade and be filtered out.

I added a copperband butterfly and it has eliminate all of my aptasia. So far he has been a model citizen in my mixed reef.

Thank you so very much!

I do strongly recommend my product! It is definitely different from other products that claim to kill Aiptasia! It actually kills Aiptasia!!!

Frank, does your product have anything in it that will raise pH or Alkalinity? I currently dose with Kalkwasser and do not want to cause a spike. I am very interested in your product though.

This 100%!

Nothing I tried would kill them to oblivion(including kalk paste, ApitaisaX, boiling water, lemon juice, etc, etc). Used some "F" aptasia from @Frank's Tanks, and none have returned several months later.

Highly recommended!

I tried Aiptasia X and I suffered what many others had suffered......aiptasia bail out.

Which means for every one I tried to kill with it I got 3-5 more and rarely did it kill the aiptasia.

Not sure how many are in your tank but I have always had good luck with super glue. Give them a good poke so they shrink up, then cover them with glue. Never had one come back after.

that's awesome lol, but the poor snails are probably going to go blind (no I'm not kidding, there is possible "retinal" damage)

I agree, it will kill the aiptasia and prevent it from spreading. Its a thicker paste that covers the aiptasia for several days preventing them from spreading unlike Aiptasia X that blows away after several minutes.

FYI, dont do the laser! Here is what has happened since the laser

Bummer on the laser. Let’s us know how franks work. Mine are gone with my file fish but can’t hurt to have a back up

That was about to be my next question. I was just looking at Matted File Fish and thinking of getting one. Does your bother coral?

My coral is just some candy cane and paly right now. Still working on my tank redo. So can’t say yet.

I will say he mowed thru a large rock full of them along with all the others big and small. I can’t find one anywhere. Took about 2 weeks but he caught on. I keep him full with clams, black worms and other frozen things since aptasia gone. And I like him as part of the tank.
