need help can't get 150g to hold water

Hello I'm new to this, I resealed my 150 3 times now it's 6'x24"x18.5" made with 1/2 glass and the bottom trim is missing in some places and a buddy told me that the weight of the gravel could be pushing the free floating bottom pane down and causing it to pop the seal due to not having support it held water for 2 days I put the gravel in and 2 hours later half my water was gone any advice I'm at wits end but I don't want to give up on it

Trim is typically there for support. You need to find a new trim piece if you can. If not, I would give up. No way in this world I would risk that much water on my floor.

I know you said you don't want to give up on it, but that's exactly what you should do. It's not worth 150 gallons on the floor.

That's why I have it by the floor drain, would I be able to use plywood and Styrofoam under it in between the bottom pane and the top of the stand to support the bottom pane

Yes that would support the bottom pane, however, I would never trust that to fix your problem. Your just asking for a mess and heartache......and a super upset spouse if your married.

I like to sleep at night. IMO, it's simply not worth it, floor drain or not.

It's either I try to fix it like that which I'd be happy about or I'm going to use one pane and make a plywood tank but I would really love to get this tank to work but it doesn't sound to promising

When a seal is bad, its bad. Aside from disassembly and reassembly its not fixable in any fashion other than temporary.

So unless I tear the whole thing apart and rebuild it it won't hold water ever again?

It will....but it will also leak again, or worse....give out completely.

That's the only hope you have of correctly fixing the problem. As someone who has done that before, I will never do it again. Such a pain when tanks can be found all over Craigslist and the forums in my area.
