So I ordered the wrong fittings and I'd hate to do it again so I thought I'd ask here and see if I can get any help.

I'm trying to hard plumb my Aquamaxx FR-SE Media Reactor but I can't find the right fittings for it. Do they even make any fittings smaller than 3/8"?

I believe @Broadfield has a little experience modifying the Aquamaxx Reactors but they might have been a larger size.

I find that rather odd they use 3/8" tubing and what I can only guess is 1/4" fittings.

Well the only thing I've been able to find is 1/4" RODI fittings in that size. You could go with something like this...

And thread it into this...

Or if you wanted to step up to 1/2" Slip fittings... atleast you have a few options now to pick from:)

This is probably the nicest looking option if you were going to step up to 1/2".... it's a spigot fitting so it slips inside the 1/2" pipe or elbow fitting which makes for a sleeker look and if you're adding an elbow it will take up MUCH less space...

doesn't spigot mean its the same size as the pipe? meaning I'd need a coupler to connect it to the pipe?

You're correct I worded that wrong (was thinking of internal slip fittings), it will slide into fittings but not pipe. Fixed it :)

You're right, it'll look a lot cleaner with that fitting. I was about to order the couplings from formufit but they only have 2 more 1/2" couplings in stock. where else does everyone get their colored pvc?

Are you looking for coloured elbows specifically??

Try shopping here...

Okay..... so 1/2" piping isn't going to work for this reactor without physically modifying the holes. The holes are too close together for 2x 1/2" pipes along with any coupling/fittings putting them together.

So either I have to drill the holes bigger, settle for soft tubing, or go for the regular reactors that Aquamaxx carries....

How much more space do you need to make the fittings work?
