I have a 72 gallon bowfront tank with gsp, Kenya trees, Xenia and some green hairy mushrooms and so far they seem to be doing alright. I know that is some easy and hardy corals to begin with and for lighting I am using the fluval aquasky LED light since this was the light I began this tank with when it started as a fowlr tank. I was thinking about getting the fluval Marine 3.0 light since I have easy to maintain corals. Just wanted to know if this would be a good choice since it is pretty cheap and don't want to spend a ton of money on lighting.

If you don't plan on adding any LPS, SPS anemones, or clams to the tank, I think that light would suffice. If you think you may EVER add anything more demanding, I would just spend a bit more up front and save the trouble and expense of upgrading again later.

Nah I don't plan on adding anything else. I have glass tops and a canopy, would putting that light on the tops be ok?

I agree that it will probably be OK. You can always use both of them if you need more light. The next jump up would be something like a Photon v2, which is about $700 for a 48", but you can sometimes find them cheaper if you look in the used marketplace... but used has it's risks too.
