So I'm building a basement sump. I want to place two 40 breeders next to each other and connect them. One will be a fuge the other will house reactors and skimmer. I can still the tanks no problem. Should I just use regular bulk heads and unions to connect them or would a uni seal work in this case. I will do two 1.5 inch pipes below the water line to connect. There is no room to have one higher than the other for an overflow system.

Any other ideas on how to connect them.

Is cost the main factor behind this? (40G's are cheap.) Why not use one larger tank?

18 inch width with a 17 inch height is my reasoning. Anything larger is narrower or taller. I considered custom building one but don't trust my silicone abilities at this point. Plus the farther the equipment is from to fuge light the less maintanece they will require.
