BE3D9CC3-286E-4958-8B43-3904D60CD8AC.jpeg So I’ve had the big Cobalt double element heater in my 180 for past year. Recently my LFS owner just handed me a New Titanium Heater. Told me get the Cobalts out ASAP. (Got Whole System thru him). He had just had one malfunction and broke open in a tank sump. Crashed whole tank very quickly. So I was like “Wow thanks Bro”. Appreciate him caring enough to just give me Heater and warm me about possible failure. So he gave me this Titanium 500 wt ViaAqua brand Heater. Seems to work just fine for now, but the chords are ridiculously short and trying to hang the digital parts proves very hard because of the chord length. I have heat probe in sump and the display hanging out the back of my stand on floor. Didn’t feel right about mounting inside stand for the fear of it falling in to sump and causing havoc. No thanks. Very cheap display that doesn’t appear very water resistant. What are You all w bigger tanks using for heaters?? I would want to stick w Titanium but maybe Change to a Higher grade Heater w longer chords. No Apex on System so don’t have that extra piece of mind w redundancy for failures.

I hav4 4 5oo w via aqua heaters similar to those with no Controller . They are a few years old and still seam to be working but i am considering changing them just because they are old ...
