Hello,
I'm currently having an issue with some type of algae and need some help identifying what type it is. My tank is 150 gallon with 30 gallon sump, it's been up for about 18 months. This is my first reef tank and have ran the tank from the beginning as an ULNS system because all i read about nutrients causing issues. I could never get any nitrate reading and phosphates would usually read around .012 with the hanna ULR checker.
After reading several posts on the R2R forum about low nutrients possibly causing dinos I've dosed NaNO3 and Na3PO4 and brought the levels up to 8ppm NO3 and .1 ppm NO4. It's been about a week and so far haven't seen any changes in the tank other than the corals having more color. It's also growing over the coralline algae on my overflows but nothing on the rock. I've attached some pictures I took under the microscope also.
Thanks

And thanks for the greeting. Well met!
