so my fish are dieing fast.. my maroon clown and two percs have been moving their mouths really fast and the maroon was swimming vertical and now the maroon clown seems to be laying on his side. all of our levels are good and we seem to think that maybe our oxygen levels are too low does anyone have any suggestions?? please help i really dont want to lose my gold stripe maroon thats my favorite fish

have you done anything recent to the tank? i.e water change? if it's happening as fast as you say, check your salinity levels.

Without knowing your actual levels and the basics of your setup we're not really going to be able to help. For now I suppose direct more flow towards the water surface...

60 breeder, bare bottom, temp tank while 150 gal is cycling... tank has been running for about a week fish have been in it for about three days now and salinity is 1.025 amonia is at 0 PH is at 7.5 and yes i know the PH is low

might be the lack of tank cycle

right now in an effort to save the fish we have put them in our sump that has a cycled rock in it... the maroon seems to still have his mouth moving quickly which is a sign he is atleast getting some oxygen and he has picked himself up a little bit..but we are still trying everything possible

What's your alkalinity? Flow? Are these all new fish, anything white/translucent and hazy on their skin?

new to our tank... i rescued the fish from a bar that the owners up and walked away from.. thats why we have the fish... no white/translucent haze on their skin and everything is good... we moved the fish into the 150 gallons sump and the levels there are all good... we just have to bump up the salt content a little bit which is not hard

not speaking ill of you but I usually run a tank for almost a month before placing fish in it. if you rescued them, then I understand for the quickness. just keep the flow going and if you have any sort of bubbler, put it in there

You still haven't told us what kind of flow you've got...

bubbler already in the tank for oxygen and windows open to help the levels

its been running for more than a week .. we just put fish in it

in some cases it can take up to a month to cycle the tank. being a new tank and just adding fish is never a good idea. another things is being a new tank is that the bio load may not be sufficient enough.

these things are very important to know about long before fish are added.

salinity is 1.025 is ok
ammonia is at 0 PH is at 7.5 may be a bad test kit? what time during the day did you test. test kit can be bad.

what about the other par.

ammonia?
nitrite?
nitrate ?

these level are very import to month during the first couple week or setting up a tank and will tell you when its time to add fish.

what happens curing a cycle is these 3 level ammonia, nitrite and nitrate will rise to a high level that can and will cause problems and during the cycle each one will go up then back down one at a time. that where testing for each one comes in to play as you can monitor them in some cases go up and down. and in most case each one can take about a week to go up and back down.

im vmbfreekz33 boyfriend, on our main tank is a 160 gal 6' tank, basement fish room with 14 gal fuge and 50 gal rubber maid with aprox 35 gal water in it returned to the main tank with a little giant 3x series pump with a modded maxijet 1200 and a koralia 3 dont have more flow yet because tank just started to cycle this week. In the fuge the flow is the equivilant of the maxijet 1200 without the mod cycling through it from the drain pipe. Salinity is at 1.025 amonia nitrates and nitrites are at 0 ph is at 8.0

The holding tank we had them in was a 60 breeder with a maxijet 1200 and hob filter creating flow the fish were only in there for 5 days when this started happening tonight
