Tank is about 8 months old and was carefully cycled and waited long time before turning on lights, coraline starting to cover good amounts of rock. No fish in tank currently just corals and snail, crab, shrimp.

Ph 8.3
Alk 9.1
Nitrates 3.5
Phos 0.03
Calcium 476
Mag >1500 with salifert kit
SG 1.026
Temp 78 always

Never had any issues with algea until now , have a 16 gallon sump with cheato and red ogo , seeded well with pods and can see them easily on glass.

This algea is dark color and stringy, my turbo snails do eat it readily or else it would have taken over by now. Not sure what type this is, doesn't look like the ones I was prepared for. I do 15% water changes weekly with home made ro/di water.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it seems to be gaining ground despite good tank habits.

Uuugghh. That's the one that has to be total blackout on tank with microbactor? I have so many corals so not sure about blackout period?

I have been pulling it out with tweezers

As its the start of dino- this simple 5 day plan should nip it quickly:
Prepare by starting with a water change and blow this stuff loose with a turkey baster and siphon up loose particles.
Turn lights off (at least white and run blue at 10-15% IF you have light dependant corals) for 5 days and at night dose 1ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons for all 5 nights. If you dont have light dependent coral- turn all lights off.
During the day dose 1ml of liquid bacteria (such as bacter 7 or XLM) per 10 gallons.
Clean filters daily and DO NOT FEED CORAL FOODS OR ADD NOPOX as it is food for dinos.
Day 5,, you can start with blue lights - ramping up and work your white lights up slowly

OK, I can handle that , gonna start tonight , thx thx for the game plan vetteguy!
