hi all, I recently went for holiday for a week and went on auto feeder. When I am back, tank is full of algae. Been trying to solve the problem. Added an ATS to try to suck nutrients. Any recommendations to help?

I have a similar issue

Do you have a CUC? What's in it? How big is your tank? How old is your tank? Do you have corals?

I have some LPS. 2 clams. 3 cardinals, 2 chromis, one yellow tang, one long nose hawk fish and a dart fish. CUC consist of 10 asters snails, one abalone and recently added seahare.

I also added an ATS to the sump recently. Hopefully this will help.

How old and how big is the tank?

I could be wrong, but it seems like this may be a fairly young tank and you're just stocking it a little fast.

That algae might be nothing to worry about in that case. The SeaHare and ATS would both be advised against if the tank is young.

Let me know! :)

Tank is relatively young. About 4 months. I didn't even realize that I was stocking it too fast. Thanks for the reminder.

Please teach me. I am relatively new in marine tank.

Why is the ATS not good for a young tank?

Seahare is probably not good cos it is not friendly to seahare as it will die off once it has finished eating. Am I right?
