Need help for identifying a blenny it was sold as a starry Blenny but it looks like a lawnmower blenny

No worries! I don't think I've seen a lawnmower with spots on its side quite like that before but I have only dealt with a handful of them, let see what others have to say!

That sucks it was sold to me as a starry blenny for 50$

Close but not as Starry is reverse coloration as in pic below. Id take it back for a refund

I was at a fish store and they had a blenny with the name mary in it. I cant remember the exact name but it looked similar to a lawnmower but was shorter and smaller

You mean molly blenny? There’s also Midas blenny

it is the molly blenny! molly miller is what I was thinking of. I think this particular blenny kind of looks like it

I also have a question that if I bring it back and say it’s not a starry blenny and they say it is, is there any distinctive traits that are different from the two. It looks like the starry has reddish eyes and the lawnmower has black and white eyes but I could be wrong

the coloration alone should be enough, I would just google pictures while in the store
