If your dead set on vortechs then I would do 60 on the side panel and 3 40s on the back

I personally have 2 60s on my side panel. Both on reef crest at 90%

Do you have both 60’s on 1 side or 1 on each side? Do you also have 40s on the back?

I wonder if I could get away with 2 60’s only both on the left side??

I have 2 60s on the same side panel. My tank is 90” but not a chance that would reach the other side

wouldn’t reach the other side of mine. I also have 3 gyre 250s. I really only needed 2 gyres but added a third to try and fix a cyano problem that didn’t work. But the 2 60s on the side panel and the 2 gyre 250s work great for me

Well personally I would go 1 at each end and 1 in the middle of the back wall.

in my new system I have 1 MP60 each end and MP40 on the back in the middle.

How long is your new tank? How thick is the glass? Curious if you have any issues with the MP40 staying on the glass. Some have reported them falling off 3/4” glass.

I decided to go with two MP60s which I plan on mounting both on the left panel. Hoping to keep the back wall clear of any power heads. I really hope I am making the right decision......

It may work with the shorter tank for while. After the corals grow I think you’ll need to add something to the back

If your tank was 6 ft would you still go with 60s?

yes i would if money was not an issue

my glass is 15mm thick with no issues of them falling off
