We would need some more specifics. Many reefers run successful tanks without a skimmer. What size tank, what are your parameters, what lighting are you using. How much and how often are you doing water changes. What kinds of corals are you trying to keep. How much flow does your tank have. Are you doing any dosing or running any reactors of any type.Hey guys, i'm so confused why is my corals keep dying. I'm pretty sure theres no fish that is eating my corals. The polyp extension on that toadstool though!!!!!!I agree if water parameters are in check as far as nutrients (not to low or to high) a skimmer is not necessary and would look at lighting or flow or other possibilities. This is my LPS/softie quarantine tank running no skimmer for over a year now and my corals like yet more than they do my big tank with all the fancy equipment LOL.
