So I’m close to just giving up on this tank…
I’ve been battling this weird brown green algae on my sand bed which is brutally hard to beat
I found out my phosphates was .88 on Hanna so i started running gfo got it to .16 sucked out all the sand infested with this algae and it just returned completely

i reduced my lighting, reduced feeding to once a week and it’s still crazy all over the sand

nitrates are really low… barely reading any which makes no sense cause I’m only running s skimmer no other chemicals

tanks 2 years

Yah but won’t this just be a temp fix? Id have to do this all the time?
Yes but it will give you the ability to fight it. I would recommend getting that then getting a CUC that is sufficient at cleaning your sand.

Would you recommend sand shifters maybe a bunch of snails

Yes I would add: hermit crabs,Narcissus snails, copo pods and maybe a skimmer to reduce nitrates if you have them
I mean i have snails i was thinking of adding few turbos like 30 narcissus copes maybe 30 hermits thinking sand shifting starfish try growing chaeto
