NEED HELP. I am out of idea's

1st-
I have been trying to figure out why all of a sudden my thriving Gonipora coral has over about 3 weeks slowly started to not come out and slowly die. I have tried dipping in coral RX and also Bayer complete insect killer per directions on bulkreefsupply.com. NOTHING, still dying off. It is a beautiful coral and i would love try to save it. ANY IDEAS on what else can be done??

2nd-
I have a Duncan coral and started with one head and quickly grew to 2 heads. Now, for about a week or so, it has not opened at all. I have tried feeding it and turned the lights down very slightly since it is the center of the tank about 3/4 way down (24" height of tank) ANY IDEAS on what else can try?

Tank is a 70G reef with multiple soft corals and LPS.

the only thing i changed is about a month ago i started mixing 1 table spoon of Kalkwasser into about a gallon of water, let settle and i run the solution through my dosing pump. 20ml in the morning, 20ml in the afternoon, and 20ml at night. COULD THIS BE AN ISSUE??

Calcium is a little high but should not kill anything. Gonioporas are harder corals to take care of since it takes months before they actually die. Sometimes it is already on the way out. If I notice any tissue recession when I purchased it, I stay away from Gonioporas. Sometimes you can stop degredation by trying to target feed it actual food size it can eat like the goniopower food.

Duncans are weird and I think it will be fine.

That amount of kalkwasser wouldn't cause your issues, I would think. But it may be why you have slightly high calcium. I would cut back dosing and aim for mid 400s.

Agreed. It's probably starving to death. You can take a 2 liter plastic soda bottle and cut the bottom off about 4" from the top, so you have the cone top and about 4" of the sides. Take that and cover the gonipora with it and mix some Gonipower food and put it through the top where the cap of the soda bottle was. Leave it covered for 20 minutes while it eats. This will target feed the coral food without it being blown all over the place. Keep feeding it this way and watch your parameters.
