Hello,

I am new to saltwater and I got some hitchhikers when I bought the live rock. Any ideas on what kind of coral I have growing in my tank?

This was at a weird angle and I had a hard time getting a steady picture.

!!! Welcome to R2R !!! Like @James M said, Zoas. Nice beginner corals. If you have actinic light the color will pup.. I have a few on my tank.

They are from strain of a wild colony of palythoa. Be careful, those ones have palytoxin. Don’t boil the rock, take it out to scrub with a brush, or drink the tank water. Palytoxin is dangerous if it’s inhailed, gets consumed, or gets in the blood stream. It is a good hitchhiker though, consider it a free piece of coral!!!
