You will get many diff opinions on this but imo there completly safe i have always had alot of them in my systems and they never bother anything.They used to be considered completly reefsafe but things change when people see stuff on there corals lol they assume there eating the coral.Most the time a sps coral loses tissue because of water quality problems and begins to grow algea on the dead areas,So the starfish go to that coral and eat the algea.There benificail to reefs imo but like i said u will get other opinions as always.
