Need help identifying a feather duster looking critter in my sand

I hope this pic is good enough, but I have a skittish, white, feather duster looking creature that can pop back into the sand in a split second. What is it and should I be worried?

No need to worry. Looks like a feather duster. They are harmless.

Outside of one used for cleaning dust, I never knew these things existed. Do they provide anything beneficial? I’m guessing it’s a hitchhiker.
