I recently set up a biocube on my work desk. It is doing very well so far but I have these little tufts of algae that are only growing on the glass. I wish I could take a picture but I cant. The best way to describe them is that they look like Aptasia but they are very obviously a plant. They have a single mounting spot with several green feelers almost fern like. They are very firmly attached to the acrylic and the back plastic wall. I have a very hard time scrubbing them off.

Not my picture but they look just like this but mine are more of a brownish color.

Fan or feather like sounds like bryopsis to me. If it's just tufts, then probably just hair algae. Either way, if it is not much, I use a razor and pinch as I scrape to remove. Keep phosphates low and remove as much as possible and it shouldn't spread.

it looks to just be hair algae. i get this one my glass sometimes and never had a problem with it just need to take it off.

What do you use to scrape when you have an acrylic tank? The biocube is acrylic. My big tank at home is glass so this is my first time with acrylic.

you would want to use a plastic scraper for acrylic and metal for glass. honestly I've been using an old credit card to scrape my tank lol
