Looking for help in IDing my purchase. Had for over a month doing well in tank just wondering which kind it actually is. I was told by the shop I bought from it's a Halloween crab but information I found didn't match up.

The crab is hard to get a photo of as typically he blends in and hides all day. Today I was just lucky enough to see it scurry across my front glass and had my phone with me.

I’m not a fan or crabs, even hermits. They’re cute but I’ve never seen a “reef safe” crab. Even my scarlet hermits likes to snack on my corals from time to time

Porcelain/anemone crabs are completely reef safe. (They’re not true crabs because they only have 6 legs). But they’re just filter feeders. And beautiful.

I forgot about those ones, I had a handful in my rock nem tank and you’re right :)

I think small hermits and porcelain are fine. All others are NOT to be trusted. They are opportunistic.

No idea but this recipe sounds like a good option.
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chervil, parsley, or chives
1 tablespoon vermouth
1 teaspoon lemon zest
