Needed some help identifying these eggs. I a working on my first 13.5 fluval tank. Live stock - clownfish, six line wrasse, cleaner shrimp, emerald crab, hermit crab, asteria snail, cerith snail. Just added 2 corals - one hammer and 0ne red monti about three days ago.

The crab has been handing out under the hammer mostly but not sure if they drop eggs like that. Should I just go ahead and siphon them out ?!

emerald crabs like bubble algae, that potentially looks like bubble algae. try blowing on them with a turkey baster, if they stay still and you have to pry them off with tweezers then it’s probably bubble algae. usually caused by low flow and high nutrients. if it’s only on the hammer base it as probably a hitch hiker. remove it asap.

They were super hard. I was able to scrape them off. Hopefully that’s the end of that chapter. I had started overfeeding with an intent to have extra nutrients avaiabke for newly added corals( new to this and salt water in general). This over feeding has started series if events I am not too happy about. Need to go back to my original level of feeding.

yep, as soon as you find bubble algae scrape it off, i once said naahhh it’ll be fine. one month later i ended up having to take all my rock work out and scrubbing with a tooth brush. not fun.
