Sorry about the poor photo quality. The nem is decently old and about 3 inches wide. Any help is appreciated.

It's definitely not a sebae or carpet, and most likely not an LTA because its in the rock, not sand. Condy anemones tend to have longer tentacles and purple tips, so I think we can rule that out. I would think BTA or magnificent anemone, but mags are rarely that small. So... probably at bubble tip anemone: a cool animal that will host clowns!

The nems got really short tentacles, is that common in BTA. Also it's been in there for 5 years and hasn't grown past 3 inches.

+1 on bta. Does it have bulb like tips at times or always look like the photo you have here?

Here is one of mine that is now 2 since i took this the other day. In 3-4 years i think i have 5 from the original i purchased as rainbow bubble tip, but i can't tell if its a rainbow or rose honestly. But this is what a bta looks like

My nem definitely doesn't look like that, I was thinking maybe it's a Beadlet anemone. Also it's never split. If it is a BTA, could poor lighting have stunted the growth.

Looks like a young BTA. I have a small one that looks identical

Mine close up when moving around the tank like yours. When i feed them or the clowns do they will get short bulb like tentacles. I have not been feeding mine because they keep splitting. But once they have the right flow and lighting they will sit still and get like the photo when hungry.

So if I feed it it will come out more and show better? I'm new to reefing, tanks a friends who I'm learning from.

Its going to go and stay where it likes the flow and lighting, its not something that you can glue in place unfortunatly. However if you feed it occasionally, some mysis or some thawed out frozen foods but only small pieces as i used to try and feed mine silver sides but i noticed that larger pieces they would end up spitting out. It also helps to feed earlier in the day at least with mine because they also tend to spit food out when the lights go out. It would probably end up growing a little faster maybe more so if your lights are not overly powerful. Gives it an extra boost of energy. If you have clowns that host it you typically do not have to do this as they will feed it for you.

It's a Frankenstein Mojano!!!

In all seriousness it looks like a stunted bubble tip but following along to see!

The clowns dont go near it, also would 2 t5 12in. from the tank be considered overly powerful.

Haha. I actually lost most of my corals a few years back to mojanos that spread like wildfire and stung everything to death. 9 bottles of apstasia x and everything was back to normal. For the everyone's sake i hope mojanos have not gone all hulk. Haha

Could be a various number of things, like light or nutrients. T5 12" away might be too hot but nems like bubbles like a high par especially if it's been under it for 5 years.....i have never seen one but it could just be a dwarf anenome, nature is very interesting ;)

Yeah like merkey said could be parameters, if its always moving then its not finding a spot it likes. If the clowns are not hosting it could just be it needs a little supplemental feeding 1 or maybe 2 times a week or so. mine basically haven't moved from their rock in years, when they split they give each other space and that's it

It seems to move a inch or two every few days but never leaving the right side of the tank.

Do you have some good powerheads making some decent flow in the tank. Mine like to have good flow and are up on the middle half of the tank and i have strong led lighting as i have a mixed reef with lots of sps
