Hi. I'm wondering if anyone can help me identify something growing on a Zoa. I noticed it first last night. This morning I dipped the Zoa in CoralRx, and picked off the growth.

Any thoughts on what it is and a treatment?

Thanks, Declan

Sponge.
You seem to have removed carefully. Continue to remove if you can and give it a fast dip in peroxide and return to tank

Is it squishy, rubbery or hard? Could be a sponge but what it looks like to me is the zoas have moved and just exposed some coral glue they were covering.

It's not glue; I've never glued this Zoa to a rock.

The substance is not hard, and it's not super soft. My first thought was it looks like a sponge - but when I stuck the wooden skewer into it to get a closer look, it felt rubbery in the middle.

I have no experience with Sponges; I'm not sure about the texture (I just assumed they are soft all the way through).
